Empowering SUK Penang with Future-Ready AI Skills

From 6–8 May 2025, our team had the privilege of conducting a hands-on, future-ready AI training for more than 30 officers at the Penang State Secretary’s Office (SUK Penang). The 3-day programme covered the full spectrum of artificial intelligence—from fundamentals and ethical frameworks to generative media tools and AI-powered productivity.

Bringing AI to the Heart of Government

As AI rapidly transforms the way we work, public sector readiness becomes increasingly essential. In response, our company delivered a structured and immersive AI training programme at SUK Penang’s headquarters in Komtar, targeting key officers responsible for digital transformation across departments.

This 3-day training was not just a presentation of tools—it was an end-to-end learning experience focused on real-world applications, hands-on exploration, and strategic implementation of AI in government workflows.

Training Overview

⏰ Class Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM daily

Day 1: Foundations of AI and ChatGPT

The opening day set the stage by introducing the evolution of AI, the distinction between machine learning, deep learning, and NLP, and the practical capabilities of modern AI models like ChatGPT. Participants gained hands-on exposure to OpenAI’s latest features—custom instructions, voice mode, GPTs with memory, and multimodal capabilities including vision and data analysis.

Day 2: AI Productivity Tools, Prompting Techniques & Ethics

The second day focused on prompt engineering, exploring what separates casual use from professional-level interactions. We introduced a broad range of AI tools including Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Qwen, and Perplexity. Google Workspace’s built-in AI features were demonstrated alongside third-party tools for automation, writing, and research.

The day concluded with in-depth discussions on AI ethics, responsible usage, and emerging trends, giving participants a strategic perspective on navigating the challenges of AI adoption in public service.

Day 3: Generative AI in Media & Workflow Automation

Our final day explored AI in creative contexts—image generation with Midjourney, FLUX, and DALL·E, audio/video creation tools, and ethical considerations around synthetic media. The session also covered AI-enhanced document and workflow management, aligned with ISO 27001 and ISO 30301 standards, and included bonus content on training and deploying custom AI chatbots for government applications.
